MINISTRIES
Volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank our awesome God, share our faith with others, and enhance our community.
“Love is shown more in deeds than in words.”
St. Ignatius of Loyola
Our local parishes offer many different opportunities for returning our gifts of time and talent to our Heavenly Father. We desire to be a family of families who serve God and our community.
MINISTRIES
Altar Servers
Altar Servers help the congregation in their prayer and worship of God by assisting the priest at Mass. The care and attention altar servers show to their ministry add to the reverence and beauty of our liturgies. An Altar Server must at least be 10 years old and must be able to receive the Eucharist.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharist allows us to participate more deeply in the Paschal Mystery -- the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ -- inviting us to conform our lives to Christ’s. Eucharistic Ministers give generously of themselves to serve all those who come to the table of God’s love.
Faith Formation for Children
Faith Formation for Children (FFC) is our parish's catechism program for children from Grades 2 to 7 who are not enrolled in St. James School. The program prepares children to receive the Sacraments through education on Catholic teachings. Classes start during the Fall Season.
Upon This Rock
Upon This Rock is our parishes' RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). Through the exploration of the Biblical foundations of the Catholic Church, and through a period of instruction, prayer, and reflection, adults who inquire into the Catholic faith are provided a path to baptism.
Ministry for the Poor
This ministry endeavors to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, and joy. Members of the Ministry for the Poor embrace the Church's role in alleviating suffering from poverty, loneliness, hunger, homelessness, and hurt, regardless of faiths and backgrounds.
