Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based catholic education program for children, focused on nurturing their spiritual growth through a deep, personal connection to God. We offer level one CGS at Our Lady of the Valley for ages 3-6. The program is held Tuesday mornings from September through April.

In CGS, children engage with a carefully prepared “atrium” — a specially designed space filled with simple, meaningful materials that reflect the rich traditions of the Church, such as miniature altars, figures for the Nativity and other biblical scenes, and materials for learning about the sacraments. Through this hands-on approach, children are invited to experience the Gospel in a way that speaks to their hearts and imaginations.

At Our Lady of the Valley, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is offered as a formation program for children, fostering both spiritual growth and a loving community. It is a beautiful way for young children to discover the joy and peace of a relationship with God.
