"Flores de Mayo" (Flowers of May)

During the month of May our Filipino Catholic Community will lead the renewal of our devotion to Our Blessed Mother through Masses offered in her honour, novenas, and a daily offering of flowers.

Spain introduced Filipinos to a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom they lovingly call Mama Mary. During the month of May (which is peak blooming season for flowers) we renew our devotion to Mama Mary. The month-long celebration is referred to as Flores de Mayo (Spanish for "Flowers of May").

Starting on May 5th, the Filipino Community will be offering flowers at the statue of Our Lady before Mass.
